What the authors reported
The authors describe palmitoylethanolamide as protective and anti-inflammatory in laboratory models, and note that it has no antioxidant activity of its own. They present this as the reason for pairing it with the flavonoid luteolin, and they report that the combination outperformed either compound alone in laboratory work.
Limits of this study
A narrative review that rests mainly on cell and animal studies. The authors note that knowledge of the mechanisms is incomplete and comes mostly from laboratory models. The funding and conflict statements were not visible on the page checked.
