Effects of palmitoylethanolamide on the cutaneous allergic inflammatory response in Ascaris hypersensitive Beagle dogs

What the authors reported
The authors reported smaller wheals after allergen challenge following a dose. The 10 mg/kg dose gave the largest effect, with no further gain at 30 mg/kg. The effect on wheals lasted longer than the rise in plasma levels. No side effects were seen.
Limits of this study
An experimental study in six laboratory dogs, using a skin test. It does not show an effect in pet dogs with skin disease. The limitations and funding statements were not visible on the page checked.
