What the authors reported
No study had compared micronised or ultramicronised palmitoylethanolamide against the pure compound in patients, the author points out, the minimum needed to support the claim of superiority. At least two authors of the reviewed paper have direct connections to Epitech and Innovet. He argues for pure palmitoylethanolamide without additives until that comparison is done.
Limits of this study
A commentary, not data. Its central point, that no human head-to-head comparison of particle-size forms exists, was still true at the time of Gabrielsson 2016 and Rankin 2020 and remains true in this database. The author's own affiliation is not stated in the abstract.
