What the authors reported
The authors conclude that the available evidence suggests a place for micronised palmitoylethanolamide in the dietary management of chronic pain. Most of the evidence they present is from laboratory research. They describe one clinical study in pet dogs, of palmitoylethanolamide with quercetin, which reported lower owner-rated pain scores at 4 weeks.
Limits of this study
A narrative review that rests mainly on laboratory data. The one clinical study in dogs that it describes tested a combination with quercetin. The funding and conflict statements were not visible on the page checked.
